Jacob Schor, RND FABNO

Dr. Schor has been practicing at the Denver Naturopathic Clinic since February 1992. He completed his undergraduate degree in Food Science at Cornell University. He enrolled in the National College of Naturopathic Medicine, Portland, Oregon in 1987. Dr. Schor received his Doctor of Naturopathy in 1991. He then moved to Colorado and opened the Denver Naturopathic Clinic with his wife, Dr. Rena Bloom.

“The eclectic approach using the knowledge from so many different fields of study, looking for solutions for the entire person rather that fixing the piece, made such perfect sense to me, I couldn’t resist.” remembers Dr. Schor thinking back. “It was the right place, and the perfect profession.”

Over the many years Dr. Schor’s practice evolved into specializing in integrative oncology. Combining the use of natural therapies with medical research he supports patients undergoing medical cancer treatments.

Dr. Schor has been a fellow member of the Oncology Academy of Naturopathic Physicians(FABNO) since 2008. The OncANP initiated a credentialing process for naturopathic doctors in 2006. A separate and independent board, the American Board of Naturopathic Oncology (ABNO) was established to oversee the process. ABNO established a Board of Medical Examiners (BoMEx). ABNOBoMEx developed standards including training requirements, an application process and mechanisms for an independent agency to administer board certification tests.

Dr. Schor has a wealth of knowledge that he draws on. His passion for learning didn’t stop in school, and he welcomes each patient as a chance to learn something new. He is gifted at figuring out the complex stories he hears, and pursues creative avenues to find each patient relief. He has never been known to limit himself to what he learned yesterday.

Dr. Schor served a term on the board of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP). In the Summer of 2008, he became the first recipient of the Vis Award from the AANP. He served as president and legislative chair for the Colorado Association of Naturopathic Doctors and is a current board member. Dr. Schor is a past president of the Oncology Association of Naturopathic (OncANP)  and is currently active on their continuing education committee. In the Summer of 2009 he received OncANP’s President’s Award for service to the organization and furthering the group’s mission.

Dr. Schor is an associate editor of the Natural Medicine Journal and a regular contributor to the Townsend Letter for Doctors, the Naturopathic Doctors News and Review and the Integrative Medicine: a Clinician’s Journal.
